Why? A Digest Component allows end users to subscribe to email notifications of new content based on topics they are interested in.

When you create a new Digest Component, you will need to:

  1. Create the Digest.
  2. Configure the Digest.
  3. Create a Digest Registration page.
  4. Enable the Digest for other components on your website.

This procedure will help you create the Digest.

Create the Digest Component

  1. Log in to the website as a Site Manager.
  2. Click My Profile to bring up the Site Manager tools, then in the Site Manager Component Tools section, click Digest Manager. The Digest Topic Groups window appears.
  3. In the left column, click Add Digest Wizard. The Add Digest Topic Group Wizard window appears.
  4. In the Digest Topic Group Name box, type a name for this Digest. Then, click Next. The Component Editor window appears.
  5. Scroll to the bottom of the form and click Next (you do not need to change any settings on this form now). The Topic Group Editor window appears.
  6. In the left column, click Save This Group. The Topic Group Editor window disappears.

Generally, we recommend creating the Digest Registration page next, so you will have that file name available when you Configure the Digest Component.
