The Michigan Great Lakes Water Trails website can now show you almost 100,000 detailed low-altitude images of ALL of Michigan's coastline.

These photos date from 2011 and 2012 and come from the US Army Corps of Engineers and the Superior Watershed Partnership.

LIAA has added them to the website as overlays which appear instantaneously on the trail maps. Despite displaying almost 3,500 miles of trails and thousands of points, the trail maps are quite speedy due to the use of a Google Maps Engine account LIAA received from Google Earth Outreach.

So, Si Quaeris Peninsulam Amoenam (part of Michigan's state motto, which means "if you seek a pleasant peninsula"), take a look at these photos!
